The state of Connecticut banned entertainment (3D keepsake) ultrasounds effective July 1, 2009. This was the result of two concerns:
- Safety concerns - view news coverage
- The industry is not regulated.
- There is no requirement that Sonographers perform the scan.
- There is no requirement that the ultrasound equipment be serviced regularly and calibrated for use in OB ultrasound.
- There is no physician oversight with protocols to field incidental findings.

Let your voice be heard.......sign the little sprout petition. In the future, if the Maryland General Assembly addresses the 3D ultrasound industry, we will take your signature to Annapolis and request that they REGULATE the industry rather than LEGISLATE us out of business.
